The Strad Magazine: Opinion Article Feature
Honoured to have my opinion article, Intangible Assets, featured in the August print and online edition of The Strad Magazine!
The article grew out of a presentation I gave at the ASTA National Conference, exploring how theatre improv games can help studio music teachers sharpen sensory awareness, develop intuitive communication skills, and become more responsive to their students' needs.
As teachers, we do far more than teach technique and musical material. We are constantly reading student cues, adapting in the moment, and guiding students forward based on what we observe.
Using theatre improv games in teacher training can help teachers develop and deepen these essential skills, leading to more effective communication and better student outcomes.
Thank you to The Strad for inviting me to write about a subject I am so passionate about.
