Over The Rainbow Visual Campaign

When I first started learning how to record about a year ago I knew that I wanted to created music, but I also knew that I wanted to create a visual experience to accompany that music. Since the music would be shared in a digital medium I felt it would be missing the live performance element that I so love.

I wanted to figure out a way to give the audience the feel of performance though a digital medium, and so I came up with the idea of creating visual campaigns influenced by each single I would release. I wanted these campaigns to visually reflect the feel and energy of the music … and as a bit of a music geek I also wanted to share a little of the backstory and song history about these amazing pieces of music.

I first thought of running these campaigns primarily on my Instagram and Facebook pages, but I got to thinking that not everyone loves/uses social media :) So I decided to share them in blog form on my website as well.

As much as I enjoy the connectivity of social media, I actually think I like sharing the campaigns on my blog more, because I can show them as one complete picture the way I initially imagined them.

If you scroll down though the gallery you can see all the photos of the Over The Rainbow visual campaign, and you can click on each one to read the caption that went with it.

If you scroll down a little further you can watch the official music video and behind the scenes video, credits for my research notes, and the link to stream/purchase a digital download of Over The Rainbow.

I hope you enjoy, and that it gives you a bit of a visual experience to accompany the music :)

Until next time,

~ Carmen
